On Exhibition:

HI SK8 Films Art Show

November 15th, 2024

Presenting the Hi Sk8 Art Show, an examination and representation of art and skateboarding’s interactions within Hawaii. Featuring work by, for, and about skateboarding, and spanning decades as well as mediums, the showcase seeks to present the cross sections of two intriguing and countercultural scenes as they exist in the islands through 3D and 2D works that take shape in the abstract, the historical, and the interactive.

The HI Sk8 Art Show features work by Kainoa Gruspe, Jordan Cheng, Spike Jonze, and many others. The Hi Sk8 Art Show is curated by Alec Singer, Travis Hancock, and guest curator Naz Kawakami, and is an accompaniment to the 13th annual Hi Sk8 Film Festival which takes place on November 30th at the Honolulu Museum of Art.

Join us for the opening reception on Friday, November 15 from 6 — 9 PM.
