ʻŌpua Typeface Collection Launch

‘Ōpua is a new collection of typefaces from CJ Type developed around the concept of Hawai‘i futurism. Through a design dialog between type designer CJ Dunn and typographer Marika Higgins, the ‘Ōpua typefaces were designed prioritizing the letters of the Hawaiian alphabet, and were first used for a new aloha shirt collaboration with Sig on Smith, that was released on Friday, March 15th.

There will be an accompanying exhibition at Kaiao Space showing the typeface collection in use on posters, installations, and an apparel collection, with more related events through the end of March.
