Soft Landing

Kaiao Space presents Soft Landing. A group exhibition that brings together eight artists living and working in Honolulu, Los Angeles and New York City. Spanning various mediums and a wide range of styles. Each Artist holds an innate connection to their surroundings and a unique ability to communicate this relationship through their art practice.

Soft Landing observes the textures that pass through our daily lives and fold away into the background. Everyday we take in and discard an endless amount of visual information. How it feels to be present within an environment quickly comes and goes. Collecting materials and recording small details within a wider scene may help to remind us briefly of a memory or arrive at a destination. Each artist offers us to step into their surroundings and stand still for a moment. To look at something again that might have easily gone unnoticed.
